Under Stratford on Avon District Council’s Core Strategy there is a requirement to build a significant number of dwellings across the District by 2031.
Welford-on-Avon is identified as a category 2 Local Service Village and has a requirement for a number of dwellings, given as a range, that need to be built by this date.
This range was originally stated to be between 51 and 75 homes but was subsequently increased by 12% to a maximum of 84 houses.
The Core Strategy was adopted on 11th July 2016 but planning permission has already been granted for 16 (or possibly 19) new dwellings in excess of this figure.
