Cress Hill is a wooded area on the western outskirts of the village, owned by Welford Parish Council and was dedicated as a Queen Elizabeth II Field in Trust for the 2012 Jubilee. It is a public amenity space with seating and picnic area and panoramic views across the village, the River Avon and the surrounding countryside. It can be accessed from the Barton Road or from the Avon Valley Walk.
Periodically working parties are organised to cut back unwanted growth from the footpaths and picnic area and to maintain the views. If you are interested in helping please contact Kate Winston on 01789 750428.
