Welford over 60’s club, which began in 1962, is now more of a luncheon club. The group meets most months for lunch, either in the Chapel rooms or out for lunch. In July there is a Strawberries and Cream Tea event. In December there is a Christmas Lunch with presents. The group carries out charity work and organises Garden Parties to raise money for charities.

The group meets most 1st Thursdays in the month

It is a small group of about 25 people. In order to meet more often and take part in a wider variety of events, the group needs more people to join. It is an extremely friendly group.

The above picture was taken at the Strawberries and Cream Tea event in July 2009, held at ‘The Hive’. A raffle was held to raise funds for the charity ‘Little Hearts Matter’. This charity gives support to children with a hypoplastic left heart syndrome (where the left ventricle doesn’t work properly) In all, £60.00 was raised.
