It is with considerable regret that the NGS Open Gardens weekend planned for 23rd and 24th of June will have to be cancelled as we only have 3 houses in the village who have come forward to open their gardens, despite requests for more support in the last 3 editions of Welford Matters.
We needed a minimum of 6 gardens to make this event not only viable to organise but cost effective for visitors attending.
The NGS, donates all of its profits to National Cancer charities and with so many lovely gardens in Welford – big and small, to not be able to get 6 residents to open is a real shame.
